Chris Mitchell
Chris Mitchell didn't belong in space. He wasn't trained to be an astronaut, none of the "Grounders" were. Mitchell spent his days in the dimly lit work cells of the Aberdeen Subterranean Facilities. Over time, and thousands of parts, Mitchell became an expert on the North Star Satellite. After conventional methods fail, he is appointed to Service Vehicle 9 on a high-stakes mission to repair the WinterField.
Chris Mitchell’s heart raced as he peered through the porthole of Service Vehicle 9. Earth looked so cold and hopeless from his vantage. Soon, he would enter the great void. Despite his meticulous preparation, and his rehearsals of procedure and plan, one singular thought echoed through the halls of his mind: I’m not ready for this.

An abandoned ship, drifting on gravitational tides, wanders into Earth's Orbit. Transit Three, a Perthian craft, stretches over 200 meters from stem to stern. Its hexagonal center hub once anchored six protruding fuselages, but after untold millennia in the void, only the forward and aft sections remain. Now, as it glides unseen through the darkness, its forward fuselage emerges from the black without warning—undetectable by modern technology, a ghost in the abyss.

Depot One rests in the basin of a crater on the moon world Clarion. Its dome-shaped form is cocooned in a silken, otherworldly sheath. Depot One waits patiently in silence, as if holding its breath for the next visitors. Razor-edged ferns blanket the valley, their spiked stalks swaying gently in the alien breeze, whispering secrets to the dark.
Beyond the crater’s rim, the ocean planet Moora crests the horizon. Its vast azure waters shimmering under Hetti’s brilliant light. The planet's soft glow spills across the lunar expanse, bathing the landscape in a tranquil blue hue. Even in its faintness, Moora’s reflection calms the moon world— offering a brief, merciful reprieve, before the moon’s deeper darkness stirs to life.

Dr. Emily O'Connor
Dr. Emily O'Connor isn't just the Service Vehicle 9's Medical Doctor, she is also an expert in astrophysics and the crew's leading scientist.
Her exposure to the wonders of science grounds her when others falter. She takes her roll seriously, as the crew's foremost authority on all things science, but never forgets her primary obligation - to keep the crew alive - if possible.

Tech Chief Daniella Pena "Dani"
Tech Chief Daniella "Dani" Pena came from nothing. Born to subterranean parents, she was expected to live and die below ground, like everyone else in her lot. But not Dani. Her near-perfect relocation scores made her impossible to ignore.
Once enrolled at the Academy-Ft. Bragg, she never looked back. She kept her head down and worked hard, doubling down on her effort every time she heard the word "Grounder."
Pulled from her family at a young age and plunged into the Academies fostered a deep distrust for authority - a quality that didn't benefit her in the armed forces, but paid dividends in the cut-throat Academy environment. Keep people at arm's length - a lesson that follows her still - It's just easier that way.

First Officer Ruben Apodaca "APO"
First Officer Ruben "Apo" Apodaca wasn't much for small talk. He'd rather spend his time collecting intel or gathering situational awareness.
With more military experience than anyone else aboard Service Vehicle 9, the team looked to Apo for all things strategic. Even the Commander deferred military tactics and strategic planning to his trusted First Officer.
